Senate Republicans Planning for Hann Loss

We learned today the MN Senate Republican Caucus is taking steps to preparing for a loss by Senate Minority Leader David Hann (R-48, Edenn Prairie) in November. We understand they have selected Assistant Majority Sen. Michelle Benson (R-31, Ham Lake) to step into the role immediately if Hann should fail.

The lack of confidence may be a telling sign of polling data or just reality. It also supports our contention that Republicans are facing greater challenges in suburban seats this election, largely due to the candidacy of Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump.

Other sources are saying Republican House Speaker Kurt Daudt (R-31B, Crown) says the pick will be Sen.Eric Pratt (R-55, Prior Lake).
